Philosophy

"Engravings become warp and weft,
traces woven into the
material, evoking an ancient gesture
deeply rooted in both collective and
personal memory. They give form to a
geometric and architectural language.
Each line becomes a thread,
each intersection a weave of memory,
where place, identity, heritage and
innovation converge.”

Gabriele Onnis

Designer & Art Director – Eptà 94

Gabriele Onnis is a product designer based in Cagliari, specializing in the development of collections that combine material research, design culture, and contemporary storytelling.

His work is distinguished by the ability to reinterpret traditional materials and craftsmanship — such as cork, wool, and ceramics — through essential forms and a deep attention to the meaning of objects.

Alongside his design practice, he collaborates with companies and research centers, overseeing the entire development process from concept to the final definition of products and collections.

His work has been recognized by the ADI Design Museum, which selected the project Phos for the international exhibition Italy: A New Collective Landscape, presented in Milan, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Phos per la mostra internazionale Italy: A New Collective Landscape, presentata a Milano, Hong Kong e Shanghai.

Today, his research focuses on the dialogue between material, function, and narrative — principles that also guide the artistic direction of Eptà 94.

The Craft Behind the Project

Ideas take shape when design and production speak the same language.

Eptà 94 was born within Effegieffe, an Italian company founded in 1994 and specialized in bespoke interior solutions. Three decades of experience in material craftsmanship, product development, and manufacturing form the foundation on which the brand has been built.

To define the visual language of the collection, Eptà 94 partnered with designer and Art Director Gabriele Onnis, establishing an ongoing dialogue between creative vision, material knowledge, and manufacturing expertise.

Each collection emerges from the intersection of research, design, and production. A process that transforms surfaces, textures, and design concepts into architectural elements that are tangible, precise, and repeatable.

The combination of craftsmanship, advanced technologies, and attention to detail ensures that the identity of each project remains intact from concept development to final production.

Eptà 94 represents the evolution of this experience: a system of architectural surfaces designed for architects, interior designers, and professionals seeking a contemporary, distinctive, and authentically Italian design language.

The Meaning of Eptà

Eptà derives from the Greek word for the number seven, a universal symbol of balance, harmony, and proportion.
The same principles that guide the design of every collection: material, geometry, and function in perfect equilibrium.
